Early and effective summer weed control workshops for WA grain cropping

  • Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development - DPIRD Esperance Melijinup Rd Esperance WA 6450 Australia (map)

Summer weeds can rob subsequent crops of soil nitrogen and stored soil water. Summer weeds can also delay seeding time for winter crops through reducing stored soil water forcing growers to wait till sufficient autumn rain has fallen. They can also reduce crop emergence by causing physical and/or chemical interference at seeding time.

Early control eliminates this sort of nightmare - Moisture-stressed fleabane.
