  • Andrew Storrie is the principal of AGRONOMO, a private consulting agronomist operating from Albany in Western Australia.
  • Gives accurate advice that is practical and within Australian and State legislation
  • Andrew understands the need to manage a problem with limited time and/or funds.
  • Andrew has 35 years experience in the agricultural and environmental sectors and is an AQF5 accredited SMARTtrain trainer.
  • Andrew has spent the past 20 years specialising in weed management across a range of environments from the wet sub-tropics to semi-arid. (NSW Technical Specialist  for weeds with NSW Department of Primary Industries for 14 years (1995 to 2008)
  • 15 years as an extension agronomist advising farmers on productivity and sustainability
  • Acknowledged expert on herbicides and herbicide resistance (currently Executive officer for the Australian Glyphosate Sustainability Working Group)
  • Research and extension agronomist with the Centre for Cooperative Research in Australian Weed Management  2001-2008
  • Has worked with local government and the community to create roadside vegetation management plans
  • Developed catchment-wide weed prioritisation with Catchment Management Authorities
  • Conducted research & extension projects on aquatic and riparian weeds including alligator weed (Alternanthera philoxeroides), cabomba (Cabomba caroliniana) and lippia (Phyla canescens).

Current Projects

  • Executive officer of the Australian Glyphosate Working Group, ensuring this Group is the major source of information on glyphosate resistance in Australia
  • "Better Spray Application" Workshops - one and half day for growers and agronomists
  • Conducting weed management workshops for government departments
  • Conduct training on extension techniques and presentation skills
  • Writing technical publications for government departments and farmer groups
